Here’s a sneak peek into Day 1 of Balanced Body® Movement Principles:

Movement Principles is the prerequisite and the foundation of the Balanced Body instructor training system.

In this course you will learn how to recognize, improve and teach fundamental movement patterns.

You will gain a foundational understanding of the body in motion, and how to use it in improving your clients’ every day lives!

8:15am
First thing is to sign in, meet your fellow students, choose a mat to sit & move on & have a browse through your Movement Principles manual.

8:30am
Introduction to the structure and content of the Movement Principles – you’ll find out what you’ll be learning each day.

9:00am
The learning begins! We start with Module 1 which comprises of a lecture with slides and stories & then you’ll learn how to observe movement. There is always a moving component to our learning so next you will break into groups and practice analysing posture, having a discussion about it and asking questions. Questions are encouraged!

11:00am
We’ll take a short break

11:15am
We get stuck into Module 2 which is all about Trunk Integration. Again, it starts with a lecture, some stories, some discussion & of course movement. You will start to learn some of the fundamental Pilates exercises in this module.

1:15pm
Time for a well earned lunch 🙂

2:15pm
We continue with Module 2 working through the anatomy of the spine. Then we jump into some more movement, this time focusing on spinal mobility exercises & then some practice teaching of the exercises you have learned so far.

4:15pm
You’ve made it to the end of Day 1! Fantastic! It’s time for final questions, any discussion that arises from the questions & then home time 🙂
